Call for paper for South Asian Journal of Policy and Governance (SJPG)

Objectives of SJPG

The South Asian Journal of Policy and Governance (SJPG) is an international double blind peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to exploring the intersection of public policy, administrative reform, and governance challenges specific to the South Asian region. SJPG  invites original manuscript submissions for its upcoming issue. SJPG serves as a premier platform for exploring and analyzing contemporary developments in governance across developed, transitional, and emerging states. We publish in both hard copy and via open access online to ensure maximum reach and impact for your research. It is published bi-annually by the Public Administration Campus (PAC), Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

Scope and Research Themes

The SJPG aims to focus on advancing science and the art of public policy and governance. It seeks to do so by fostering and sharing knowledge and experiences among academics, practitioners, and researchers and students of administrative sciences. This journal will address the common issues, which its audience at different levels is facing the world over. Its central theme is the continuing need to improve both efficiency and effectiveness in a situation of scarce resources and rising public expectations, especially of service quality. The journal will cover theories, concepts, methods and practical experiences, which have a bearing on how these issues can best be managed.

We seek high-quality, interdisciplinary empirical research and theoretical papers that offer evidence-based insights into the social, political, and economic dynamics of governance and policy issues in South Asia and beyond. We particularly encourage submissions on:

  • Public Administration & Management: New Public Management (NPM), administrative reforms, Institutional resilience, digital transformation, and responsive public service delivery.

  • Sustainable Development: Implementation of SDGs, climate governance, and disaster risk management.

  • Public Policy & Equity: Formulation, implementation, and evaluation in diverse contexts, Gender-based, inclusive growth, and youth leadership in policy-making.

  • Economic Policy: Trade relationships, labor markets, and poverty reduction strategies.

  • Law & Human Rights: Legal frameworks affecting marginalized communities and regional security.

  • Public Policy: Decentralization: Local governance, fiscal federalism, and community-led development.

  • Governance Trends: Accountability, transparency, and institutional resilience in South Asia and beyond.

Reviewing process

Primarily, each paper is reviewed by the editor(s) and, if it is judged suitable for this publication, it is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review. Based on their recommendations, the editor then decides whether the paper should be accepted as it is, revised or rejected.
